Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal commended the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) for its significant role in India’s global trade and policy landscape as the institute celebrated its 63rd Foundation Day. Goyal highlighted IIFT’s contributions to policy, research, and capacity building, shaping the nation’s international trade and management ecosystem.
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, also congratulated IIFT for consistently supporting India’s global trade ambitions through high-quality education and research. He emphasized the institute’s presence in New Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada, and GIFT City, showcasing its expanding global footprint and outlook.
Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation and National Educational Technology Forum, Anil Sahasrabudhe, stressed the importance of multilingual education for enhanced accessibility and outreach during the 63rd Foundation Day event. He underlined the relevance of institutions like IIFT in preparing students for the complex global business environment.
Vice Chancellor of IIFT, Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, highlighted the institute’s recent growth, including organizing major academic and research conferences and hosting the Vice-Chancellors’ Conclave 2026 focused on internationalizing higher education in India. He also mentioned the launch of the Pitch Perfect Australia–India Business Compendium under IIFT’s Case Research Centre to promote research-led innovation and experiential learning.
