He emphasized India’s infrastructure focus, financial reforms, and business-friendly environment, inviting collaboration in areas like clean energy, technology, and manufacturing. Goyal, alongside Canada’s Minister of International Trade, led the ‘Canada-India Investment Roundtable’ to enhance financial market cooperation for mutual growth.
Goyal also met with Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited’s Chairman and CEO, V. Prem Watsa, to explore collaboration prospects in infrastructure, finance, and clean energy sectors. Discussions with Manulife Financial Corporation’s President and CEO, Philip Witherington, centered on investment opportunities within India’s expanding financial services landscape. Similarly, talks with Sun Life Canada’s President and CEO, Kevin Strain, focused on potential collaborations in insurance, retirement solutions, and healthcare financing in India.
Furthermore, Goyal’s meeting with Neo Performance Materials’ President and CEO, Rahim Suleman, aimed at strengthening the India-Canada partnership in critical minerals and advanced materials essential for clean technologies. They also explored opportunities to bolster supply chains and meet the global demand for strategic minerals, emphasizing value addition and reliability.
