Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the Trinamool Congress, along with other opposition parties, will face consequences in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections for obstructing the Women’s Reservation (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha. Modi, addressing a rally in Darjeeling district, criticized the Trinamool Congress for allegedly betraying the women of West Bengal by opposing increased female representation in politics. He also accused the party of neglecting tribal communities and prioritizing illegal infiltrators over them.
The Prime Minister highlighted the Trinamool Congress’ disregard for tribal issues and its failure to uphold Constitutional provisions. He condemned the party for disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu during her visit to West Bengal. Modi drew parallels between the actions of Trinamool Congress and historical instances of undermining tribal representation in national leadership.
Modi emphasized the BJP’s commitment to women’s safety and empowerment if they come to power in West Bengal. He pledged support for initiatives such as free ration distribution, housing schemes, and healthcare benefits for women in the state. The Prime Minister asserted that the people of West Bengal are rejecting the alleged corruption of the Trinamool Congress and turning towards the BJP for transparent governance and progress.
