Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised entrepreneur Pradeep Chakraborty’s small cottage industry in Tripura during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program. Chakraborty, who runs a community production center in South Tripura district, expressed gratitude for the recognition. The production center, established in 2008, has been a source of employment and economic support in the region.
Chakraborty, appreciative of the Prime Minister’s mention, credited the Tripura Bamboo Mission for its assistance. The center, employing 12 women workers, symbolizes the empowerment of women in rural areas. The entrepreneur emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering financial independence for women.
Acknowledging the support received from the Tripura Bamboo Mission and Punjab National Bank, Chakraborty highlighted the role of government-backed initiatives in promoting small industries. His mention in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ not only recognizes his efforts but also sheds light on the significance of cottage industries in Tripura’s economy. These enterprises contribute to rural employment and uphold traditional skills in the northeastern region.
