Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of Bodoland virtually from Guwahati due to adverse weather conditions preventing his travel to Kokrajhar as planned. He emphasized the transformation of Assam over the past decade, moving towards peace and stability after years of violence. PM Modi praised the progress in Assam and highlighted the potential economic growth in Kokrajhar and the Bodoland region.
The Prime Minister criticized the Indian National Congress for betraying the people of Bodoland and Assam over the years. He mentioned that real progress began after the BJP came into power at both the state and central levels. PM Modi accused the Congress of making false promises and highlighted the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling its commitments to the people.
PM Modi recalled the initiatives for Bodoland during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure, including the formation of the Bodoland Territorial Council and various development projects. He also praised the Bodo Peace Accord signed in 2020 as a significant step towards lasting peace in the region. The Prime Minister emphasized the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Assam and the government’s dedication to improving the lives of the people in Bodoland.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to Bodoland’s development, PM Modi accused the Congress of compromising national security and supporting infiltrators. He highlighted the steps taken by the present government to reclaim land from infiltrators and restore the rights of indigenous people. PM Modi urged voters to reject the Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections and emphasized the ongoing efforts to build a prosperous Assam.
