The leaders traveled together to a community program in Kuala Lumpur, showcasing the strong India-Malaysia relationship. PM Modi expressed excitement about enhancing the ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ between the two nations, aiming to deepen defense, security, economic, and innovation collaborations.
Shortly after arriving in Kuala Lumpur, PM Modi received a warm welcome from PM Anwar Ibrahim, setting the tone for discussions to strengthen bilateral relations. The visit marks PM Modi’s third to Malaysia and the first since elevating the bilateral relationship to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ in August 2024. He highlighted the significant role of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, emphasizing their contributions as a vital link between the two countries.
During his visit, PM Modi plans to engage in bilateral talks with PM Anwar Ibrahim, engage with the Indian community, and meet industry representatives. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum is also set to take place concurrently with the Prime Minister’s visit, focusing on furthering economic cooperation and partnerships between the two nations.
