Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over a tragic incident at a power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district, where nine workers lost their lives and over 20 others were injured. He declared that Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund would be provided to the families of the deceased, with Rs 50,000 for each injured individual. PM Modi offered his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, mentioning the ongoing support from local authorities. The mishap occurred due to a boiler tube explosion at the Vedanta Power Plant, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries to several workers.

Sakti Superintendent of Police Praful Thakur confirmed the death toll and injuries caused by the blast at the Vedanta power plant. Chhattisgarh’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Lakhan Lal Dewangan, expressed deep sadness over the workers’ deaths and promptly directed officials to address the situation. The tragic incident, believed to be triggered by a boiler tube burst, is under preliminary investigation to determine the exact cause. The local administration and relevant departments are actively involved in managing the aftermath and ensuring the well-being of those affected by the unfortunate event.
