Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in a fire incident in Indore and pledged financial support. The tragedy, which occurred in a three-storey house in Tilak Nagar, claimed at least six lives. The PMO conveyed condolences and announced Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
The fire broke out unexpectedly during the early hours, swiftly engulfing the building and causing chaos. The house, owned by a businessman named Manoj, was suspected to have caught fire due to a short circuit from an electric vehicle being charged outside. Despite efforts, the blaze spread rapidly, leaving little time for the occupants to escape.
Indore Collector Shivam Verma confirmed the casualties, stating that while some individuals were rescued, six could not be saved. A firefighting team managed to control the fire after intense efforts. Neighbors mentioned that the family had guests over, leading to more people being present during the tragic incident.
The injured have been hospitalized for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities awaiting further details on the cause of the fire.
