Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day visit to Gujarat by arriving in Jamnagar on Sunday night, where elaborate security arrangements and a welcome program awaited him across Jamnagar, Somnath, and Vadodara. In Vadodara, a full rehearsal for PM Modi’s upcoming roadshow was conducted on Sunday, covering a 1.5-km route from Gada Circle to the airport. Officials also tested the vehicle designated for the Prime Minister’s travel during the roadshow, with the presence of senior officers from the police, district administration, and Vadodara Municipal Corporation.
The roadshow in Vadodara is scheduled during PM Modi’s visit on Monday, following recent electoral successes of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in local self-government elections in Gujarat and West Bengal. Anticipating large crowds, officials are gearing up for a significant public welcome program. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi expressed the enthusiasm of people across Gujarat for the Prime Minister’s visit, highlighting the public interest in the event.
On Monday morning, PM Modi is set to participate in the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav at Somnath Temple, commemorating 75 years since the temple’s restoration. The Prime Minister’s schedule includes engaging in Vishesh Maha Puja, Kumbhabhishek, and Dhvajarohan ceremonies, as well as unveiling a commemorative stamp and coin. Subsequently, he will head to Vadodara to inaugurate the Sardardham Hostel project, featuring accommodation for 1,000 boys and girls, along with essential facilities like a central dining hall, library, auditorium, and e-library services. The day will culminate with PM Modi addressing a public gathering during the program.
