As Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha about the West Asia conflict, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed that no new information was shared and reiterated the party’s request for a discussion on the matter.
PM Modi highlighted the government’s efforts to secure uninterrupted oil and gas supplies during the West Asia conflict. He emphasized India’s diversified energy imports from 41 countries, compared to the previous 27, to ensure stability.
India currently imports 60% of its LPG needs, prompting the government to prioritize domestic consumers amidst supply uncertainties. The Prime Minister also mentioned the ongoing efforts to boost domestic LPG production and maintain smooth petrol and diesel supplies nationwide.
Emphasizing India’s commitment to diplomacy and peace, PM Modi condemned attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure in the conflict zone. He stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the conflict, advocating for a peaceful solution to avoid endangering lives.
