Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his two-day visit to Malaysia and headed back to India, as confirmed by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. The visit was deemed successful, fostering stronger bilateral relations between India and Malaysia. During his stay, PM Modi engaged with CEOs from both countries, emphasizing the new trade and investment opportunities created by the CEO Forum.
PM Modi also met with Indian-origin leaders in Malaysia, praising their contributions to public life and their deep ties to India. Additionally, he paid tribute to the historical significance of the Azad Hind Fauj, meeting with veteran Jeyaraj Raja Rao and acknowledging the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Furthermore, PM Modi held discussions with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, focusing on enhancing cooperation in various sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and technology.
Highlighting the importance of people-to-people connections in the India-Malaysia friendship, PM Modi mentioned initiatives like the Social Security Agreement and the introduction of UPI in Malaysia to bring the two nations closer. He also underscored efforts to boost university exchanges and provide skill development opportunities for youth, aiming to strengthen ties between the two countries.
In a separate engagement, PM Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, receiving a warm reception from Malaysian Prime Minister Ibrahim upon his arrival in Kuala Lumpur.
