Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wrapped up his successful visit to Sweden, where he upgraded the bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership. He is now en route to Norway as part of his five-nation tour. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the visit’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and strategic cooperation.
During his stay in Sweden, PM Modi engaged in discussions to enhance economic linkages, particularly in futuristic technologies, R&D, AI, security, and healthcare. The visit saw the elevation of ties to a Strategic Partnership, the launch of the Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0, and setting ambitious goals for doubling bilateral trade in the next five years.
In recognition of his efforts to deepen cooperation between India and Sweden, PM Modi was honored with the ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross.’ He also exchanged special gifts with his Swedish counterpart, Ulf Kristersson, emphasizing the cultural bonds between the two nations.
Heading to Oslo, PM Modi will participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit and engage in discussions to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Norwegian leaders. This visit marks PM Modi’s first trip to Norway in 43 years, where he is scheduled to meet King Harald V, Queen Sonja, and hold talks with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.
