Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated 75 redeveloped Amrit Stations across India from Jalandhar, Punjab. These stations, spread across 20 states, include eight in Rajasthan: Gotan, Deeg, Somesar, Dausa, Khairthal, Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Gangapur City.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma joined the Prime Minister’s program via video conference from Gotan Railway Station in Nagaur and praised the redevelopment, stating that it would enhance railway infrastructure, passenger amenities, and contribute to a Developed Rajasthan. Sharma highlighted the transformative journey of Indian Railways since 2014, emphasizing its role in the nation’s growth and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Indian Railways continues to achieve milestones in modernization and development. The focus remains on creating world-class railway stations, improving passenger services, and ensuring safe and efficient rail travel. Expansion of rail connectivity is seen as a catalyst for economic growth and improved travel convenience.
Comprehensive railway electrification, new lines, modern stations, and terminals are driving economic development in Rajasthan. The state has witnessed a significant increase in railway budget allocation under PM Modi’s leadership, with numerous projects aimed at enhancing rail connectivity and services. The commitment to realizing a Developed India through infrastructure development and employment generation is a shared goal of the central and state governments.
