Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a comprehensive discussion on social and minority welfare issues with Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar. He commended the Grand Mufti for his efforts in promoting educational and social welfare programs in India. PM Modi also acknowledged the Grand Mufti’s global social and cultural contributions that enhance India’s standing internationally.

Their meeting in New Delhi encompassed various topics such as social, humanitarian, educational, and developmental concerns, as well as matters related to minority welfare and significant global developments. The Grand Mufti highlighted to PM Modi the issues raised by individuals from diverse societal segments during his recent Kerala tour themed “With Humanity.”

Furthermore, discussions emphasized the importance of inclusive development that caters to all communities, focusing not only on economic growth but also on happiness indices and human development. The fair allocation of resources based on population distribution and regional equilibrium was also underscored. Concerns regarding Waqf matters, SIR, the preservation of historic mosques and Islamic heritage sites were addressed during the meeting.

The conversation also touched upon the reinstatement of minority educational welfare programs like the Maulana Azad National Fellowship and the establishment of the Aligarh University Malappuram Centre.
