Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of preserving human creativity and connecting with India’s cultural heritage amidst rapid technological advancements and the rise of artificial intelligence. Speaking during his monthly radio show, ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ he stressed the need to maintain a balance between modern progress and traditional wisdom. PM Modi cited Nalanda University as an example of blending ancient traditions with contemporary innovation.
“This era is defined by technology and constant research, including advancements in AI. The challenge lies in nurturing creativity and upholding our roots alongside technological growth,” PM Modi remarked. He praised Nalanda University for reviving the tradition of intellectual discourse known as Shaastraarth, emphasizing the significance of logical debates and understanding diverse perspectives.
PM Modi commended Nalanda University’s efforts to bridge ancient practices with modern education, encouraging other institutions to follow suit. He also lauded the Central Sanskrit University in Delhi for introducing a B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, aiming to merge modern technology with India’s cultural knowledge. This initiative is expected to drive innovation in AI tools for Indian languages and aid in digitizing ancient texts.
