As the nation celebrates Kisan Diwas to honor farmers and their role in the economy, there is a renewed focus on natural farming and modern agricultural techniques. A social media account called Modi Story highlights Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal efforts to promote natural farming over chemical-based methods. Farmer Krishan Kumar shared his experience of discussing natural farming with PM Modi and how it transformed his fields.
PM Modi met with a group of pulses-growing farmers to understand their practices and challenges. He spent time discussing natural farming techniques with them and encouraged a shift towards organic farming for healthier produce. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of India becoming self-reliant in pulse production and reducing reliance on chemicals.
During interactions with farmers, PM Modi suggested starting natural farming on a small scale to observe results before transitioning the entire farm. The government has introduced farmer-centric schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana and PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi to support agricultural welfare. Krishan Kumar expressed gratitude to PM Modi for empowering farmers and boosting their confidence.
Kisan Diwas also marks the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, a former Prime Minister known for advocating farmers’ rights.
