Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with four prominent industry figures from Malaysia, recognizing the increasing business collaborations between the two nations. He highlighted Malaysian companies’ keen interest in India’s economic progress, urging Malaysian businesses to explore opportunities in sectors like infrastructure, renewable energy, digital technology, semiconductors, AI, and healthcare. PM Modi also emphasized India’s efforts to enhance the ease of doing business and establish a conducive business environment through recent reforms.
During the interaction, PM Modi met with PETRONAS President and Group CEO Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, Berjaya Corporation Berhad Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, Khazanah Nasional Berhad Managing Director Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, and Phison Electronics Founder Dato Pua Khein Seng. The discussions included the 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum held in Kuala Lumpur, where PM Modi expressed optimism that the forum’s outcomes would deepen trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The industry leaders lauded India’s reform initiatives aimed at fostering a developed India and expressed confidence in the country’s growth trajectory. They indicated a strong interest in expanding their business footprint in India through increased investments and potential collaborations with Indian partners. Additionally, PM Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim jointly condemned terrorism in all its forms, emphasizing the need for global cooperation to combat terrorism effectively.
