Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sadness over a bus accident in Uttarakhand’s Almora that resulted in at least six deaths. The incident occurred when a bus carrying around 18 passengers lost control and fell into a ravine on the Bhikiyasain-Vinayak road in Almora district. PM Modi offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident and mentioned that rescue and relief operations were being prioritized. The Chief Minister conveyed prayers for the departed souls and strength for the grieving families to cope with the loss. Additionally, he wished a quick recovery for the injured passengers.

Official sources reported that the bus accident happened near Shilapani on the Bhikiyasain-Vinayak-Jalali motor road while the bus was on its way from Bhikiyasain to Ramnagar. The bus, carrying around 17 to 18 passengers, veered off the road and fell into a gorge, resulting in six immediate fatalities. Several injured passengers were taken to the nearest government hospital for medical treatment.

Rescue efforts involving the police, district administration, and the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) are ongoing at the accident site. Authorities are concerned that some passengers might still be trapped inside the bus. Senior district officials have also arrived at the scene to supervise the rescue operations, despite the location being nearly 100 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
