Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his best wishes to all CRPF personnel on their Raising Day, praising their unwavering courage and dedication to duty. The CRPF, India’s largest Central Armed Police Force, is celebrated annually on July 27 for its crucial role in maintaining internal security, upholding law and order, and aiding during emergencies. Established in 1939, the CRPF has a rich history of service and sacrifice, with a motto of “Service and Loyalty” guiding its operations.

CRPF personnel are commended for their efforts in combating challenges like Maoism and contributing to peace and progress in society. The force, marking its 88th year, has grown into a key pillar of India’s internal security setup, emphasizing unity, integrity, and sovereignty. Over the years, the CRPF has expanded its capabilities, including units like the Rapid Action Force and the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action, specializing in various security operations.

With a legacy of bravery and selfless service, the CRPF has seen 2,270 personnel sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, showcasing their unwavering commitment to the nation. Under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the CRPF plays a vital role in maintaining peace, supporting state police forces, and undertaking diverse operations like riot control, anti-insurgency missions, and election security. Established during the British era, the force was restructured post-Independence and continues to serve India with professionalism and discipline.
