Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the growing influence of Indian culture worldwide, with people from diverse regions embracing India’s music, spirituality, and ancient traditions. In a notable instance from the Dominican Republic, he mentioned a group of Spanish-speaking individuals coming together to study Vedic literature and learn the chanting of Vedic mantras. During his monthly radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ PM Modi expressed, “Indian culture is now spreading to various corners of the world, with global audiences discovering and adopting our songs, music, and spirituality.”
Highlighting a unique endeavor in the Dominican Republic, PM Modi acknowledged the efforts of a small Indian community there in promoting Indian spiritual and cultural heritage. Despite the community’s modest size of around 100 individuals, a significant initiative named ‘Brahmakamal Dominicana’ has been launched by Spanish-speaking locals to delve into Indian traditions. The group, without formal training, diligently studies Vedic scriptures and practices chanting ancient Sanskrit mantras, relying on audio recordings for accurate pronunciation.
PM Modi commended the group’s progress in mastering various Vedic hymns and scriptures, such as Purusha Suktam, Sri Suktam, Sri Rudram, Durga Suktam, and Devi Mahatmyam. Despite the geographical distance from India, these individuals have shown remarkable dedication in embracing and preserving Indian traditions. The Prime Minister lauded the members of ‘Brahmakamal Dominicana’ for their commitment to popularizing Indian culture on a global scale.
