Addressing the media at the commencement of the Budget Session, PM Modi referred to the President’s address to Parliament, expressing confidence in the nation’s 140 crore citizens and their aspirations. He urged all Members of Parliament to take the President’s expectations seriously and work towards fulfilling them. PM Modi highlighted that a quarter of the 21st century has passed, marking the beginning of a crucial 25-year journey towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which will shape India’s future trajectory globally.
PM Modi praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the Budget in Parliament for the ninth consecutive time, a historic achievement in India’s parliamentary history. He described India’s emergence in the 21st century as a beacon of hope and a center of attraction globally, attributing it to the country’s economic and democratic strength. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of quality as India engages in global trade, especially with the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, urging Indian manufacturers to focus on superior quality to win over the EU markets.
