Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his recent ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode, mentioned the significant agreement signed with Indonesia for BrahMos and Astra missiles. This deal reflects the increasing global trust in India’s defense capabilities. India and Indonesia also finalized a pact for maritime safety cooperation during PM Modi’s visit to Indonesia.
The agreement includes the supply of BrahMos missiles to the Indonesian military and the import of India’s Astra air-to-air missiles. The Astra missile, developed by DRDO, is designed to track and eliminate agile enemy aircraft. Additionally, India will provide Indonesia with more BrahMos supersonic cruise missile batteries.
PM Modi paid tribute to the heroes of the 1999 Kargil War on Kargil Vijay Diwas, praising their extraordinary bravery. He emphasized the importance of remembering and passing on the stories of these courageous soldiers to future generations. The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s efforts in enhancing its technical capabilities, such as the induction of INS Mahendragiri in the Indian Navy.
India’s commitment to self-reliance was underscored by PM Modi, citing the indigenous development of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket and the successful flight test of the Khusha Missile. He urged the nation to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs and strive towards building a secure and self-reliant India.
