Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed delight over the rollout of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in West Bengal, ensuring access to the world’s largest healthcare scheme for the state’s residents. Emphasizing quality and affordable medical care, PM Modi highlighted the significance of this initiative on social media.
The announcement followed West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s disclosure of key decisions made during the initial Cabinet meeting. Adhikari outlined the government’s commitment to translating promises into actions, with a focus on revitalizing the state through significant policy measures.
Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a pivotal component of the broader Ayushman Bharat program, is now operational in West Bengal. This scheme, managed by the National Health Authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, aims to offer cashless hospitalization coverage of Rs 5,00,000 per family annually for essential healthcare services.
The state government also greenlit the prompt transfer of land to the Border Security Force for border fencing work, set to be finalized within 45 days. Furthermore, an increase in the upper age limit for state government job seekers by five years was approved, addressing past challenges faced by young job aspirants.
