Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign for girls aged 14 and above in Ajmer, aiming to combat cervical cancer in India. The event witnessed the vaccination of schoolgirls in the Prime Minister’s presence, emphasizing the drive to eliminate cervical cancer among women. By providing access to the HPV vaccine, the program seeks to safeguard millions of girls from potential life-threatening cancers in the future.
Upon his arrival at Kishangarh Airport, PM Modi was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Governor, and other senior officials. The Prime Minister then proceeded to the Ghughra helipad via an Army helicopter before heading to the public meeting venue by road. Women’s health took center stage during the visit, highlighting the significance of the HPV vaccination drive as a nationwide effort to eradicate cervical cancer.
The campaign underscores the government’s dedication to preventive healthcare and long-term public health security. As part of his Rajasthan tour, PM Modi is set to inaugurate key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and fostering development in the state. These projects include the Jaipur–Bandikui Expressway, the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (Package 7), and the Jodhpur Elevated Road, among others.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for water supply projects like the Nonera and Parwan-Akawad drinking water initiatives, emphasizing the government’s commitment to “Water for Every Home.” In the energy sector, he will inaugurate the transmission system for power evacuation from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and new grid substations to support renewable energy capacity.
PM Modi will also distribute appointment letters to over 21,800 newly selected candidates in various Rajasthan government departments, promoting employment generation in the region. This visit encapsulates a holistic approach towards healthcare, infrastructure development, and employment opportunities, signaling a comprehensive developmental drive for Rajasthan and a significant step in the fight against cervical cancer.
