Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, offering prayers at the historic shrine in Gujarat. He also joined the ‘Sharuya Yatra’ to honor those who defended the temple with their lives. PM Modi highlighted the shrine’s significance as a symbol of India’s spirit and resilience.

Modi Story, a social media account, shared insights on PM Modi’s deep connection with the Somnath Mandir. As Gujarat Chief Minister, he took steps to educate visitors on India’s history and civilization. The focus of the celebrations is on the enduring faith, memory, and cultural confidence represented by Somnath.

PM Modi, during his tenure as Gujarat CM, initiated projects to enhance the pilgrimage experience at Somnath. These efforts included improving cleanliness with a waste management system and expanding parking facilities. Additionally, a seaside walkway, Ocean View Promenade, and Yatradham Tourist Facilitation Centre were developed for devotees.

The pilgrimage experience was enriched by establishing a museum showcasing Hindu temple architectural styles. The aim was to ensure that devotees experience spiritual fulfillment and dignity during their visit to Somnath for darshan and rituals.
