Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with his Finnish counterpart, Petteri Orpo, and Icelandic counterpart Kristrun Frostadottir during his visit to Norway. The meetings aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the countries. PM Modi is in Norway for a two-day visit, attending the third India-Nordic Summit and engaging in various bilateral activities.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other officials were present at the meeting between PM Modi and Finnish Prime Minister Orpo. The discussions focused on enhancing ties in areas such as technology, innovation, green transition, renewable energy, defense, and space. PM Modi’s visit also included participation in the India-Norway Business and Research Summit, emphasizing the growing economic collaboration between the two nations.
During his visit, PM Modi met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store to discuss bilateral relations, regional and global issues, and areas of mutual interest. Both leaders agreed to elevate India-Norway relations to a Green Strategic Partnership, emphasizing collaboration in clean energy, blue economy, and green transition. The visit also included a meeting with the Norwegian monarch, King Harald V, where discussions centered on cooperation between Indian and Norwegian companies in various sectors, including emerging technologies.
