Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Prof. Gobardhan Das, praising his inspiring life journey. Modi highlighted Das’s dedication to serving society and his contributions to public health and immunology, noting that his work will enhance policy-making. Gobardhan Das, a newly appointed member of NITI Aayog, outlined ambitious plans for national development and regional revitalization on April 25. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi for the appointment, emphasizing his commitment to advancing various sectors for India’s progress.

Das, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of West Bengal’s development, drawing on the legacies of eminent figures from the state. He aims to restore West Bengal’s former glory as ‘Sonar Bangla’ and address critical issues such as education and healthcare to prevent migration. Das stressed the significance of inclusive policies and collective efforts for India’s self-reliance and global prominence, citing the country’s successful response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a member of NITI Aayog, Das plans to focus on revitalizing industrial and manufacturing sectors to create local employment opportunities and ensure comprehensive transformation for the welfare of all Indians. He envisions a prosperous India where regional strengths contribute to a unified national identity through inclusive growth strategies.
