PM Modi praises Indian culture celebration in Malaysia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the vibrant display of Indian culture in Malaysia, particularly highlighting a record-breaking dance performance at the ‘Selamat Datang Modiji’ event attended by over 12,000 members of the Indian diaspora, friends of India, and Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim. Modi lauded the Indian community’s spirit, emphasizing its role in strengthening India-Malaysia relations and serving as a cultural bridge between the two nations.

The Prime Minister underscored the deep-rooted connections between India and Malaysia, noting the shared heritage and cultural similarities between the two countries. He acknowledged the significant presence of the Indian-origin community in Malaysia, emphasizing their contributions to preserving traditions and fostering bilateral ties. Modi also mentioned the popularity of Indian movies and music in Malaysia, along with the cultural exchanges evident in shared traditions and languages.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted the enduring influence of Indian saints and cultural icons in Malaysia, emphasizing the global impact of Tamil culture and literature. He recognized the contributions of the Tamil diaspora in Malaysia across various fields and announced plans to establish a Thiruvalluvar center to further strengthen cultural ties. Modi also praised the Sikh community for promoting the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and reiterated India’s commitment to nurturing its cultural connections worldwide.
