Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed with a Guard of Honour at the State House in Seychelles by President Patrick Herminie. During his visit, PM Modi handed over a ‘Made in India’ Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) PS LESPWAR, six ambulances, 10 utility vehicles, and five laser radial boats to enhance Seychelles’ maritime surveillance and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) capabilities.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the significance of this gesture, emphasizing the FPV’s role in bolstering Seychelles’ maritime surveillance and EEZ patrol capabilities. Additionally, the donation of ambulances, utility vehicles, and boats aims to contribute to Seychelles’ development and security, aligning with India’s Vision MAHASAGAR for maritime cooperation.
PM Modi and President Herminie also planted a rare ‘Coco de Mer’ palm sapling at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden as a symbol of friendship and environmental conservation. This visit marked PM Modi’s second State Visit to Seychelles, further solidifying the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations.
