Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian community upon his arrival in Gothenburg, Sweden. The community members, carrying flags of both Sweden and India, chanted ‘Modi Modi’ to greet him. PM Modi, along with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, enjoyed cultural performances and an orchestra presentation during the welcoming ceremony.
Expressing his gratitude, PM Modi acknowledged the heartfelt reception from the Indian community in Gothenburg as “truly heartening.” He highlighted the strong bond and contributions of the Indian community towards enhancing India-Sweden relations. Earlier, PM Modi had concluded his visit to the Netherlands before arriving in Sweden, where he was welcomed by PM Kristersson at the airport.
During his visit, PM Modi is focused on strengthening the friendship between India and Sweden through collaborations in trade, investments, innovation, defense, and more. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson emphasized Sweden’s significance as a key partner for India, particularly in technology, sustainability, innovation, and research and development. The visit aims to provide a fresh impetus to the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
