Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Norway for the 3rd India-Nordic Summit and engage in talks with Norwegian leaders. This visit marks PM Modi’s first to Norway and the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. During the trip, he will meet with King Harald V, Queen Sonja, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.
The agenda includes PM Modi’s participation in the India-Norway Business and Research Summit alongside the Norwegian Prime Minister. The Ministry of External Affairs highlights that the visit aims to assess the progress in India-Norway relations and enhance cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, clean technology, and the blue economy.
The visit also seeks to boost bilateral trade valued at around USD 2.73 billion in 2024 and investments by Norway’s Government Pension Fund of nearly USD 28 billion in the Indian capital market. The 3rd India-Nordic Summit is scheduled for May 19, 2026, in Oslo, where PM Modi will be joined by Nordic leaders to strengthen ties in technology, green energy, defense, and more.
