Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on Tuesday. The summit aims to bolster India’s strategic ties with Nordic nations, focusing on technology, renewable energy, defense, sustainability, and trade.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced that the summit, scheduled for May 19, 2026, will see Prime Minister Modi alongside leaders from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. This summit follows previous meetings in Stockholm in 2018 and Copenhagen in 2022, aiming to enhance India’s relations with Nordic countries in various key sectors.
Before the summit, PM Modi engaged in the India-Norway Business and Research Summit, emphasizing the increasing collaboration between the two countries post the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement. The event witnessed the participation of CEOs from over 50 companies and 250 members from both Indian and Norwegian business and research communities.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also met with King Harald V at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Discussions revolved around the deepening cooperation between Indian and Norwegian companies, particularly in emerging technologies. PM Modi expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the Norwegian King and people.
