Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off his visit to West Bengal by celebrating ‘Paschimbanga Divas’ in Tarakeswar, where historical decisions were made regarding the partitioning of Bengal in 1947. This event holds significance as it marks the BJP’s recent victory in the state. The theme for this year’s celebration is “West Bengal: Heritage, Harmony and Development.”
During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate various development projects across sectors like railways, agriculture, rural development, fisheries, and animal husbandry. These initiatives aim to boost infrastructure, enhance livelihoods, improve farmer welfare, and accelerate socio-economic progress in the state. Additionally, the Prime Minister will release the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, benefitting millions of farmers nationwide.
PM Modi will also introduce key agricultural schemes in West Bengal, including the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Agri Stack, National Mission on Natural Farming, and Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. These initiatives are designed to provide insurance coverage to farmers, promote sustainable agriculture practices, and enhance agricultural productivity in the state.
