Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) projects totaling more than Rs 1,063 crore in Bharuch and Valsad districts on June 5. These investments aim to enhance industrial infrastructure, environmental management systems, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in South Gujarat. The projects are part of a larger development initiative worth over Rs 18,777 crore that will be unveiled during the Prime Minister’s visit to Gujarat.
The GIDC projects include works valued at over Rs 894 crore in Bharuch district and projects worth Rs 169.3 crore in Valsad district. A significant aspect of this initiative is a Rs 474.61 crore effluent disposal project at the Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR). This project involves a 90 million litres per day (MLD) offshore and onshore effluent disposal pipeline connecting the Saykha Pumping Station with the Dahej landfall point, encompassing various infrastructure components.
Moreover, the Prime Minister will inaugurate infrastructure facilities worth Rs 274.96 crore at the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar of Bharuch district. These facilities include road networks, stormwater drainage systems, and a central drain designed to cater to the needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and foster the growth of the industrial cluster. Additionally, a 30 MLD drainage pumping station for the Dahej-2 Industrial Estate is part of the Bharuch projects, aimed at enhancing industrial drainage management in the estate.
In Valsad district, PM Modi will inaugurate two projects in the Sarigam Industrial Estate valued at more than Rs 169 crore. The first project involves expanding the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) from 15 MLD to 25 MLD to boost effluent treatment capacity. The second project includes an HDPE onshore and offshore outfall pipeline system along with a sump and pumping station to improve the disposal of industrial effluent within the estate. These projects are anticipated to elevate industrial operations, environmental management, and future growth prospects in key sectors of South Gujarat.
