Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually lay the foundation stone for the 41-km Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project during an event in Rajasthan on July 4. The ceremony will be broadcast live at the Indoor Hall of Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur. This project, costing Rs 13,037.66 crore, is a significant urban infrastructure initiative for the state.
A district-level Rozgar Utsav (Employment Festival) will coincide with the event at the SMS Stadium Indoor Hall. Around 4,000 newly recruited personnel from various government departments are expected to receive appointment letters during the festival, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Preparations for the virtual foundation-laying ceremony and the Rozgar Utsav were discussed at a meeting chaired by Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak. The police administration was directed to ensure comprehensive security and law and order arrangements during the program.
The District Collector emphasized the need for smooth traffic management, adequate parking, VIP movement protocols, crowd control, and deployment of security personnel, including women officers. Additionally, he stressed the availability of essential facilities like seating, water, sanitation, medical aid, ambulances, and power backup.
Efforts are underway to ensure inclusivity, with provisions being made for persons with disabilities. The District Collector highlighted the importance of inter-departmental coordination for the successful conduct of the event. As part of the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign, 5 lakh saplings will be planted across Jaipur district.
