Punjab BJP President announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate four redeveloped railway stations in Punjab on July 17. The PM will physically inaugurate the Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station and virtually dedicate the S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) Railway Station, Sri Muktsar Sahib Railway Station, and Sri Anandpur Sahib Railway Station. These stations have been modernized with improved facilities and amenities while preserving their local heritage.

The redevelopment includes enhanced passenger facilities, better accessibility, modern concourses, upgraded platforms, lifts, and escalators. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to transform railway stations into modern gateways promoting connectivity, tourism, and economic growth. The inauguration of these stations reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure in Punjab.

With Assembly elections approaching, Punjab BJP leaders are gearing up for the visit, emphasizing development. The visit is significant amidst ongoing political activities in Punjab, allowing the BJP to connect with voters through a development-oriented message. Security and logistics preparations are underway at Jalandhar station for the event.
