Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam this week to participate in significant government initiatives and a major youth event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on Friday, PM Modi will engage in a government function related to state development projects, reviewing infrastructure and welfare schemes while interacting with local officials.
Following this, on Saturday, the Prime Minister will travel to Silchar in southern Assam for another official program focusing on development efforts in the Barak valley region, underscoring the government’s commitment to Northeast growth and stability. The visit aims to highlight ongoing projects and engage with local representatives.
Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a substantial youth conference in Guwahati on Sunday, organized by the BJP. Anticipated to attract around one lakh young participants from various districts of Assam, the event seeks to connect with the youth, promote their involvement in public affairs, and showcase the government’s developmental vision for Assam and the broader Northeast region.
The conference is expected to bring together students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and first-time voters, offering insights into employment prospects, skill development initiatives, and infrastructure projects undertaken by the government. Notable BJP leaders, state ministers, and party officials are also expected to be part of this youth-focused gathering.
Political analysts perceive these visits by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister as integral to the BJP’s strategic outreach in the Northeast, particularly in engaging the youth and consolidating the party’s presence in Assam.
