Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri has expressed his support for Chennai Super Kings’ young bowler Anshul Kamboj following a challenging performance against Lucknow Super Giants. Kamboj, aged 25, faced difficulties as he was hit for four consecutive sixes by Marsh during a quick innings of 90 runs off 38 balls. Despite this, Shastri believes Kamboj will learn from this experience and bounce back stronger.
Shastri suggested that Kamboj should have altered his bowling strategy when Marsh began attacking short deliveries. He advised the young bowler to focus on bowling yorkers and targeting the stumps to counter such aggressive batting. Shastri emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes, stating that tough situations help young cricketers improve their skills.
Reflecting on the match, Shastri highlighted the positives for CSK despite the loss. He commended the team for posting a competitive total of 187/5 on a challenging batting pitch. Shastri mentioned the contributions of Kartik Sharma and Shivam Dube, who played crucial roles in CSK’s innings recovery after early setbacks.
Shastri viewed the defeat as a valuable learning opportunity for CSK ahead of their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and learn from the lessons gained in the game.
Currently, CSK occupies the sixth position in the points table with 12 points from 12 matches. To secure a playoff spot, they will need to win their remaining matches and improve their standing in the tournament.
