Modi stressed the significance of shaping AI in a manner that benefits humanity and underlined the potential risks associated with its misuse.
AI was described by PM Modi as a transformative force that could either lead to destruction or offer solutions based on its direction. He introduced the ‘MANAV’ vision, focusing on a human-centric framework for AI in India. The acronym ‘MANAV’ stands for Moral & Ethical Systems, Accountable Governance, Accessible and Inclusive technology, Valued and Legitimate AI, and Vision for Humanity, reflecting the core principles of India’s approach to AI development.
Modi called for transparency and openness in AI development, advocating for shared innovation and collective improvement. He highlighted the need for global norms and standards to address emerging risks like deepfakes and manipulated digital content. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of child safety in the AI ecosystem and expressed India’s optimistic outlook on AI, viewing it as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
