Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode, encouraged the youth to register as voters at the age of 18, emphasizing the significance of this act in strengthening India’s democracy. He highlighted the importance of Republic Day and the role of the Constitution in shaping the nation’s governance.

PM Modi stressed the value of becoming a voter, comparing it to a significant milestone in an individual’s life that deserves celebration and recognition from the community. He expressed gratitude towards those actively engaged in the electoral process and emphasized the vital role of voters in upholding democracy.

On National Voters’ Day, PM Modi urged young adults to fulfill their constitutional duty by registering as voters when they come of age, underscoring the positive impact this action would have on India’s democratic framework. He also called upon educational institutions to commemorate students’ entry into the electoral process.

In a letter to MY-Bharat volunteers and young citizens, PM Modi described voting as both a privilege and a responsibility in a democratic society, urging the new generation to advocate for voter registration and engage in civic duties.
