Returning from Kolkata after leading the main event on the 12th International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to wait at Delhi Airport to not disturb the NEET-UG 2026 examination traffic arrangements. PM Modi arrived at the airport around 1.15 p.m. and had planned to go directly to his official residence from there. However, considering the NEET exam was scheduled to start at 2 p.m., he stayed at the airport to ensure students faced no inconvenience in reaching their exam centers.
His decision aimed to facilitate smooth traffic flow and he left for his residence only after the exam began at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, over 20 lakh students worldwide are currently taking the NEET-UG re-exam with stringent security measures in place. Earlier, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan encouraged aspirants to sit for the exams without concerns and assured that the results of over 15 lakh students who applied for CBSE Class 12 board exam re-evaluation are ready for release.
Addressing reporters, Pradhan expressed confidence in the National Testing Agency, state governments, district administrations, and students. He wished success to the nearly 22 lakh NEET exam takers, urging them to sit without fear. However, he cautioned against jeopardizing the future of India’s youth.
