The visit followed PM Modi’s successful trips to Indonesia and Australia, where significant outcomes were achieved in areas such as trade, technology, security, education, and innovation. In New Zealand, the two Prime Ministers engaged in extensive discussions on trade and investment, defense and security, agri-tech, sports, education, tourism, culture, and people-to-people ties.
The leaders witnessed the exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding in fields like defense, maritime security, sports, disaster management, dairy, tourism, culture, and ocean research. PM Modi emphasized the shared democratic values and commitment to sustainable development between India and New Zealand, highlighting the potential for a strong economic partnership. The day concluded with a Gala luncheon event and a gathering of the Indian diaspora in New Zealand, where PM Modi expressed gratitude for the warm reception and support.
