Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ by Seychelles, recognizing his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. This accolade highlights PM Modi’s dedication to promoting sustainable growth and his emphasis on environmental sustainability. The award adds to a series of international recognitions for PM Modi’s efforts in climate action, sustainable development, and green initiatives.
PM Modi was previously honored with the 2026 Agricola Medal by the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome for his significant contributions to food security, agricultural development, and farmer welfare. He has also received prestigious awards such as the Seoul Peace Prize in 2018 for his work in sustainable economic growth and the Champions of the Earth Award for Policy Leadership in the same year.
During his current three-day State visit to Seychelles, PM Modi met with President Patrick Herminie and participated in a ceremony where he handed over various assets, including a ‘Made in India’ Fast Patrol Vessel, ambulances, utility vehicles, and boats, to enhance Seychelles’ maritime surveillance capabilities. The leaders also planted a rare ‘Coco de Mer’ palm sapling at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden to symbolize bilateral cooperation and friendship.
