Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again secured the top spot on the global list of popular leaders with an impressive 68% approval rating, as per a survey by Morning Consult, a renowned US data analytics firm. The survey conducted between March 2 and 8 highlights PM Modi’s consistent popularity, both nationally and internationally, maintaining his lead despite being in power for three consecutive terms. In contrast, US President Donald Trump lags far behind, with only a 39% approval rating, failing to make it to the Top Ten rankings.
Switzerland President Guy Parmelin and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung closely trail PM Modi, holding the second spot with 62% approval ratings. Following closely are counterparts from the Czech Republic and Argentina, securing the third and fourth positions with 57% and 56% approval ratings, respectively. European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, fall significantly behind, with Starmer at 24% and Macron at a mere 17% approval rating, placing him at the bottom of the list.
PM Modi’s consistent dominance in approval ratings since taking office is noteworthy, especially as he recently achieved the milestone of becoming the longest-serving head of government in India. With 8,931 days in office, combining his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister, PM Modi has entered his 25th year in a key leadership role. The Morning Consult ratings, based on a seven-day moving average of adult opinions across surveyed countries, further solidify his enduring popularity.
