The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme has brought significant changes to the lives of Ravita Kumari and Manmendra Kumar, a couple from Panapur village in Bihar’s Sheikhpura district. With support from the government, they have established flour and oil processing units, leading to a substantial increase in their earnings. This initiative has not only made them self-reliant but has also enabled them to provide better education for their children.
Ravita Kumari and Manmendra Kumar, residents of Ghat Kusumbha block, were previously struggling with a small flour mill business that could not adequately support their family. Upon learning about the PMFME scheme through the Industries Department, they decided to take advantage of its benefits. Through the scheme, they acquired modern machinery for flour milling and oil extraction, which significantly boosted their productivity and income.
Thanks to their hard work and the assistance provided by the scheme, the couple now enjoys a stable monthly income, significantly improving their living standards. Their success story has not only inspired others in their community but has also ensured a brighter future for their children through enhanced educational opportunities.
Beneficiary Manmendra Kumar expressed gratitude towards the Narendra Modi-led Union government for the employment opportunities and financial support provided through the PMFME scheme. He highlighted the scheme’s effectiveness in expanding his business operations and increasing their earnings. The couple now serves customers from neighboring villages, catering to the demand for flour and oil products.
Ravita Kumari, another beneficiary, shared how the scheme enabled them to transition from a small flour mill to a larger processing unit, supported by a loan under the Prime Minister’s initiative. The significant improvement in their income has alleviated the previous struggles they faced in meeting their children’s basic needs, reflecting the positive impact of the PMFME scheme on their livelihood.
