The owner of Shambhu Girls Hostel, Manish Ranjan, arrested in connection with the Patna NEET student death case, faced a setback as the POCSO Court in Patna refused to grant him bail during the latest hearing. The bail petition was presented in court, but no relief was provided to the accused.
The victim’s mother, after the court hearing, accused both the CBI and the Bihar Police of trying to cover up the case. She expressed disappointment with the agencies for allegedly attempting to protect Manish Ranjan and another accused, Neelam Agarwal. The victim’s mother vowed to continue the legal battle for justice.
The grieving mother highlighted that her daughter had been entrusted to the hostel for NEET preparation. She claimed that influential individuals visited the hostel and insinuated that her daughter was a victim of rape and murder due to the family’s financial status. She emphasized the family’s commitment to seeking justice not only for her daughter but also for other vulnerable girls.
The victim’s mother questioned the state government’s dedication to women’s safety, particularly in the context of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative. She criticized the administration under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for failing to protect underprivileged girls pursuing education. The case remains under scrutiny in Bihar as the investigation progresses, with the court set to revisit the bail plea in the near future.
