Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski, Poland’s Secretary of State and Deputy Foreign Minister, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a highly capable and accomplished global leader who has brought significant changes to India through his leadership. Bartoszewski emphasized Modi’s charisma, pragmatism, and forward-thinking approach, crediting him for India’s remarkable transformation. He expressed confidence in Modi’s vision for India to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2047.

Highlighting India’s non-aligned status, Bartoszewski noted the country’s positive relations with Poland, Western nations, and historical ties with Russia. He mentioned Modi’s influence in global politics, citing an instance where Modi urged Russian President Putin to exercise restraint, indicating Modi’s ability to impact Putin’s decisions.

Bartoszewski underscored Poland’s alignment with India on safeguarding freedom of navigation in seas, emphasizing the importance of upholding the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. He stressed the mutual commitment to ensuring free shipping lanes, crucial for economic security and prosperity, and expressed Poland’s support for India’s role in this endeavor.

In light of evolving geopolitical dynamics, Bartoszewski expressed Poland’s interest in collaborating with the Indo-Pacific region, recognizing India’s significance in this partnership. He highlighted a shared focus on water infrastructure cooperation, citing challenges faced in the Baltic Sea and Poland’s eagerness to learn from India’s experiences in managing such issues beyond territorial waters.
