The couple’s children and relatives accused Gautam of physical and mental abuse, leading to his arrest. Gautam is currently under investigation for the incident.
The case gained attention after CCTV footage showed Gautam assaulting Anu during a domestic dispute. Family members and relatives have provided statements to investigators regarding the alleged abuse. The couple’s children have accused Gautam of frequent assaults on Anu, especially under the influence of alcohol.
Allegations suggest that tensions escalated after Anu discovered Gautam’s relationship with a domestic help. The mental and physical harassment reportedly intensified in the months before Anu’s suicide. Investigators are also looking into claims that Gautam would cause disturbances and damage property in front of the children.
Anu Meena, aged 36 and residing in Jaipur’s Muhana area, died by suicide on April 17. Following her death, her family accused Gautam of abetment to suicide and prolonged domestic harassment. Gautam, however, denies the accusations and claims a significant portion of his assets were in Anu’s name. He also refutes allegations of harassing Anu for money.
Gautam Meena has denied the allegations against him, stating that he had spoken to Anu twice on the day of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with police collecting evidence and witness testimonies for further action based on the findings.
