In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, police arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of a youth at Sector-63 Police Station after an encounter. The arrested suspects sustained gunshot injuries during the exchange of fire, while two minors linked to the incident were detained later.
Authorities seized illegal firearms, cartridges, a knife, and two motorcycles from the suspects.
The victim, 20-year-old Deepak, was attacked with knives over a financial dispute by a group of youths on May 17. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Following the attack, a case was promptly registered at Sector-63 Police Station, and additional charges under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) were added after Deepak’s death.
During a late-night checking drive, the police team encountered four youths on two motorcycles and attempted to stop them. However, the suspects tried to flee, prompting a chase by the police.
When cornered, the accused allegedly fired at the police team, leading to a self-defensive response from the authorities. Two of the suspects, identified as Aman and Sandeep Kumar, sustained gunshot wounds and were hospitalized for treatment.
The other two accused, found to be minors, were apprehended during a subsequent operation.
Police recovered illegal weapons, cartridges, and motorcycles allegedly used in the crime from the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with a focus on uncovering the criminal history of the accused.
