Police in Jammu and Kashmir have seized properties valued at Rs 3.5 crore from two notorious drug peddlers in Srinagar district and another property worth Rs 1.5 crore from a drug peddler in Poonch district. The crackdown is part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to combat drug trafficking and assets acquired through narcotics trade.
In Srinagar, immovable properties worth Rs 3.5 crore belonging to two drug peddlers were attached under the NDPS Act, 1985. One property worth Rs 1.30 crore was attached in connection with FIR No. 30/2021 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act, while another property worth Rs 2.20 crore was attached in a separate action by Police Station Soura.
The properties, identified as illegally acquired assets from drug trafficking, have been frozen under the NDPS Act. These actions are part of Srinagar Police’s efforts to dismantle the narcotics ecosystem and target both drug traffickers and their illicitly gained assets. The Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan aims to create a drug-free society and safeguard the youth from drug abuse.
